Institute of Risk Management Tanzania (IRMT) is a professional organization established under the Chapter 212 of Laws of Tanzania with mandate to promote common interest and advance theory and practice of risk management of persons carrying on risk management profession in Tanzania. Ancillary to this, conduct training and professional examinations for advancement of profession of risk management.

IRMT Certification Boot-camp

Award:  Certificate of Competence or/and optional International Certification in Risk Management. All who attended this course will be allowed to sit for Certified Risk Management Technician IRMT Examination to be held in June, 2016

Fees:    TZS. 650,000 per person

Optional International Certification in Risk Management online exam through Global Association of Risk Practitioners (GARP) at TZS 250,000

Course objectives

This training is designed to provide participants with current foundation and understanding of risk management principles for both public and private enterprises to be able to analyze and apply knowledge for effective risk management. It builds a comprehensive understanding of risk management including techniques for system building, implementing and reporting. Participants will develop a practical understanding of organization risk and analyses solution of mitigation within their respective risk appetite. The goal is to build capacity to the participants in minimizing occurrence of risks and maximize opportunities to achieve institutional objective. The course is structured to build practical skills within the context of ISO 31000, ISO 9001:2008, IS0 9001:2015 and COSO Risk Management Frameworks. Completion of this training will help participants to understand;

• Meaning, Nature, Scope and Purpose of Risk Management
• Principles, Standards and Objectives of Risk Management; ISO 31000, COSO and Basel
• Risk Management Frameworks (design and implementation)
• Public Sector Risk Management (process, issues and Challenges)
• Risk Management Governance and Operational Risk Management
• Risk Management Process, Techniques and Tool
• Basic Risk Analytics for Financial Services

Course Methodolgy

The training will be conducted through lectures, class discussions, group case studies and video presentations. At the end of the course participants will take home the risk management tools. This is a collection of several check list, forms, graphs, sample guidelines and reports. The tools will be used extensively during the workshop to give participants enough practice during the training.
